@bling0202 i went through most accepted threads for 2020 and out of the batch that were rejected, there were quite a few who also got the FA change so i wouldn’t hold it reliable for anything…
Can someone copy and paste that link you guys are talking about
@beng21 i only think a handful of students/students who did precollege have the student tab, it doesn’t seem like anything serious tbh
I didn’t do pre-college and I have the “tab” are you sure you don’t have it? The link right under the tabs is the one I used to get to the bursar. I had to click through one more link after that one to get there. This is what the “tabs” look like on my phone

@nyuhope17 are u majoring in law? Because it says like law housing on ur thing
who has their DOB and @nyu.edu email on the hosing portal? (except for those that did the summer program) Is it possible that someone still doesn’t have that?
No, I’d be a drama major. I think that link is there bc the law school has different housing. If I click on that link it takes me to a public site for law housing. The links below the top one are all public links
Do these random changes (financial aid, housing, library portal or whatever) actually mean anything? lol I feel like i’m getting nervous about these things for no reason.
@matico17 last year the FA changed had a huge correlation with acceptance.
Actually @gsbhutta , the FA change glitch was more correlated with the class of 2019 applicants. The main indicator for the class of 2020 was Housing.
@gsbhutta @matico17 yeah, financial aid wasn’t an indicator of acceptance for last year, I’m pretty sure they fixed the glitch with that class, housing was a bigger indicator, especially if it came the day right before or a couple of ours before decisions were out
Yeah @enigma1199 I was going through last year’s thread and I believe most people got the housing change later in the day on the 14th, and I think that had a stronger correlation to acceptance. But idk, nothing is for sure. More waiting… Either way we will all find out tomorrow!
@matico17 … Indeed. @sofialicir is right as well, the change came for a few people just a few hours before decisions released. Either way, they’re all glitches in the end. NYU may have even fixed the housing glitch this year… nothing is for sure, until we see those decisions on Albert!
Good luck to you!
If I applied to steinhardt for vocal performance and indicated CAS to be my second choice, can I still be accepted to the university if my stats are good even though I wasn’t accepted artistically?
@smmiles Of course! If you put CAS as your second choice then NYU will consider you for both schools!
@enigma1199 thanks! But then people who applied to tisch said that they probably won’t get into their second choice so I’m wondering if that’s the same for steinhardt
guys what about the theory of choosing Stern as first choice and CAS as second? i heard ppl will definitely be rejected from NYU if they are rejected from Stern…
@pleaseaccepted you definitely had to clarify that you were also interested in CAS as well as your first choice in the supplement because the admission officers won’t know if you are determined enough to be a part of that college. or maybe if you expressed interest towards NYU in general? i can’t really speak for the admissions committee but i think you had to express some interest in the college before u were accepted
@smmiles hmm. I think it depends. CAS would be more academically orientated and Steinhardt’s vocal performance program would weigh both academics and the additional requirements for the program. So they would evaluate you based on the criteria for Steinhardt first, and if necessary then they’ll evaluate you for CAS.
@smmiles I applied to Tisch - Film and TV Production - but I didn’t choose a second choice, so my answer may not be the most accurate, but NYU has stated that they would consider candidates for both choices, if they list it down.
