********NYU ED Class of 2021 Discussion**********

Did anyone else get a financial aid email around 15:41 (3:41)? I did not apply for aid, but it says, “if you file the FAFSA immediately, there may still be time to ensure that you would receive your federal aid eligibility at the time of the admission decision.” I’m assuming this is just an automated message to everyone who didn’t apply for aid though…

@stern2021 I just received that email too. Do you think it means something or no?

same here. I didn’t apply for financial aid.

Guys where does the housing change come up? On Albert or on NYU home?

Guys i got it too. Do we all have pretty good stats? anyone with low stats getting this email low as is under a 28act and just poor GPA…

@way2stressed0ut Hopefully it’s a good sign, but I honestly don’t know as
@HopefulSOPH I got a 32 on the ACT in one shot and have a 3.6 GPA after 14 AP classes

I recieved the email as well even though I did file for financial aid. I checked my fafsa and it said it was submitted and processed. I have a 3.9 gpa and I recieved a 34 on the ACT and 1510 on the newest SAT.

My child got the email as well but also has decent stats. May just be automated…

I also think it is probably automated, but would they really still send it to kids who they know have already ‘gotten canned’

housing.nyu.edu is where you can look up housing, however, I don’t think applications have opened up yet.

It would seem a bit mean to say “apply for financial aid so we can reject you in nine days”. :expressionless:

^^ Exactly, but NYU could just be savage af

hey can someone give me some input on how the alternate choices work? From last years post I see people getting waitlisted when they put 2-3 alternate choices but does that mean they’re waitlisted for the first choice or all 3. Also who’s applying for Schack???

I received the fafsa email as well… but my stats arent the best. New SAT: 1360, GPA: 3.5 UW 3.71W. hope it means something good, though.

I got the email. ACT 31, UW GPA 3.45

LSP Though, so idk if that makes my chances more likely.

does anybody specifically know the CAS average sat and gpa of admitted students?

I received the email as well. SAT:2040 GPA:3.7

@makhtx did u apply for css too. Cause thats what they require

just wondering for those who did not apply for aid. Are we REQUIRED to fill out the FAFSA application, even if you do not want aid
