Just woke up from another dream that I got into NYU. Woke up crying again. 6 days.
@shealrytarable This happens to me like every night ahhhhhhh
Omg six days guys!!
I donât even know what to do with myself anymore while we wait.
Anyone else have your fafsa showing up as received?
Yes, my FAFSA is now showing as received : )
Mine is not
Same here â Iâm pretty sure that is independent from the application though. Itâs probably just FAFSA sending it off or the NYU aid office filing it.
Hang in there everyone! Just checking in as a NYU parent to give some info if youâre interested in knowing what usually happens for NYU admissions. After waiting so long everyone gets ancy about decisions coming out. Thereâs usually a rumor that someone has heard or that some change to Albert means something good or bad about your decision. You can ignore all that. At this stage there are no âtellsâ, no indicators that mean anything unless itâs for an MLK scholarship because they do hear early.
Over the next week Albert will show changes and some people will see different status texts. You can analyze them until youâre blue in the face but nothing that changes on Albert this far before the portal update will tell you if youâre admitted or not. The portal will sometimes go down but thatâs normal. Some people may see the ability to sign up for Fall 2020 Housing (not Summer) when they get very close to the admissions decisions and that is a good indicator youâre accepted but it isnât uniform - most accepted students wonât see this. The ability to pay $ to the Bursar or sign up for Summer Housing or Financial Aid change mean nothing.
NYU admissions is usually really transparent about timing and you should follow them on twitter - theyâll tweet to confirm the decision day and again once they decide when decisions will be released; you can count on that being done on time. Itâs usually 4-6pm EST. Right before decisions come out the portal will go down briefly and then there will be a flood of posts online as everyone âhearsâ. Everyone will get their decisions at the same time, itâs not by college. You will get an email eventually but the emails are later than the portal update.
I wish you all the best of luck - please go do something fun and productive for the weekend and donât stress about your admission decision! Youâre all so hard working and that work WILL pay off when you land in the best school for you, whether it is NYU or somewhere else!
mine is not either
Thank you so much for this input! Weâll try to make sure not to freak out about every single change in Albert
Does it show itâs received on Albert, the applicant portal, or both? Mine is only shown on Albert.
Hello
I too applied NYU in ED1. Did you hear anything yet?
What is Albert supposed to look like? And it says my Fafsa is in but my portal still says awaitingâŠ
My Albert is updated but portal is still awaiting.
I had never heard about Albert until right now. Is that bad? What is itâs function?
mine isnât showing up on eitherâŠ
Mine is on Albert but not the applicant portal. Does anyone know why FAFSA is taking so long while the CSS profile showed up fairly quick?
WELL GUYS, l I just checked the housing portal after logging in (housing.nyu.edu/apply or housing.nyu.edu/newyork) and got academic year 2019-2020 (mind you 19-20 is THIS school year??). Under term classifications, I am a âWAITLIST UNDERGRADUATE.â I just cried for so long because I kind of figured that the housing portal probably wouldnât state âwaitlistâ if I wasnât for sure waitlisted⊠I would have been happier if I had no changes or some other changes becuase those donât count as much. It seems like in last few yearsâ ED threads that no one has gotten âwaitlist undergraduateâ in their housing portal. I am so fking frustrated⊠ED I waitlist is also new to NYU since last year. ok wish me luck I am going to have another mental breakdown!
okay guys, donât know if this is a reach or not but when i go to housing.nyu.edu/apply it lets me choose housing but for washington dc⊠i applied to CAS but said yes to LSP and washington dc was my first choice. does this mean i got into nyu lspâŠ?
