NYU ED l 2024

Good luckkk!! @rtkpdx

The wait officially starts in like three hours.

Omg, I literally have a countdown on my phone for the decision day.

Does anyone know how many freshman are admitted to Tisch for Film and Television?

I found out Film and Television has 240 freshman spots.

There were 14,000 ED 1 & 2 apps, 17%. Even if HALF, which I doubt, were for Kanbar it would still give me a 20% chance since NYU admits double the freshman spots.

I’m hoping for much less. But I had to do a huge creative portfolio and art is so subjective so…

just wondering…did any of you get a chance to put your second choice school? When i was fillling out the NYU School, I didnt get a section to put my second choice…only LSP had a choice…i thought we could choose a second choice school but there wasnt…

Yes, I got a chance to put my second choice school.

@Dancer2468 how?!?!?!

what did you put?

in the common app there was no button that allowed me to choose a second choice school

I believe you only get second choices if you are applying to a certain school as first choice but I’m not sure which. I didn’t get a second choice school applying to Gallatin, only given the choice of LS.

I think you’re right, maybe it is only for certain schools. Wait, now that I’m really thinking about it, I never picked a second choice school but had the option to do so.

I actually had a dream last night that I got into NYU but they placed me in CAS for psychology when I never had the option to list a second choice school and I was so confused the whole time.

Oh wait maybe you are right. They give you an option to choose more than one campus, but not the school.

but wasnt it allowed last time? how come this year we are not allowed

i heard people getting into tandon when they picked stern or getting into steinhardt instead of cas

Yeah i remember people in last year’s forum talking about their second or third choice schools. We get to rank our campuses but maybe we also weren’t able to choose multiple schools within NYU. I figured that Gallatin was one of the schools where we couldn’t choose a second or third choice, but maybe it’s all now.

I think that might be the case in some instances. For the longest time, I had Stern selected as my top choice and could only add LS. Nothing changes when I switched to Gallatin.

Yeah. Does anyone know if LSP is worth it? It seems pretty cool, but most of the student-written articles I’ve seen online about it seem to paint a pretty lonely picture…

I have no idea if it’s worth it, but if I’m placed in Liberal Studies I’ll honestly be disappointed, especially because the point of me applying to Gallatin is that I already know the different subjects I want to study, but studying abroad does seem really really cool.
