Studying abroad would be really fun and an amazing opportunity.
I think so too. I just can’t wait to find out decisions.
Me too! It’s kind of an excitement mixed with fear for me.
Yeah, same here! I keep watching NYU decision reactions and stats videos on youtube.
Oof, I feel that. I’m trying to stop though, cuz there’s nothing I can do/change at this point anyway
I keep having dreams that i get in.
Ahh that’s truee
Did any of you guys get confirmation from NYU that they processed your application + your portal login yet?
When I submitted my application, they sent the confirmation and my portal log in the day after. @nervouspolicy
I didn’t get mine yet, I submitted my application on the 31st. @nervouspolicy
I submitted mine back in September and it took three days to get my portal.
Looks like we’re in the same boat then!
thanks guys :)) hopefully I get it within the next few days ?
Of course, and I’m pretty sure you will! @nervouspolicy
Also, i was watching Meet NYU’s instagram live the other day, and the admissions member stated that decisions tend to come out between Dec 12-15 every year. So…38-41 days left.
Wow, I’m excited!!
I applied for Tisch Kanbar Cinema Studies, really hope to get in >< (it would be the best if they give partial scholarship)
The article said ED1 applications were up 41% from the previous year, meaning they had 41% more ED1 applications. The total ED 1+2 were approximately 14,000 applicants. The previous year, that number was about 11,000. That year, ED 1+2 acceptance rate was 38%.
They attempt to enroll about 6500 freshmen each year and they enroll better than half from the ED pool. If my math is correct:
a) at least 3500 of the 6500 freshmen enrolled come from ED (38% of 11,000=4180 admitted less some that decline because of finances, etc.),
b) ED admit rate was about 30% last year, if they targeted about the same number of admits from ED (4180/14,000).
Also, knowing the 11,000 and 14,000 figures for ED in subsequent years, combined with the fact that ED1 increased by 41% and ED by 17%, we can determine approximately how many applicants in each group. Last year it would have been approximately 6640 ED1 and 7360 ED2. I can’t find enough information to determine the acceptance rate in each group.
Omg wow, thank you so much for correcting me!! Im really nervous now. This whole time I had thought that the acceptance rate was 41% ED 1. @lifebreath
Still, applying ED guarantees a better chance of admission.
