11:11 AM foundation: Leader of a fundraiser for Pediatric Cancer Research through the 11:11am Organization by selling merchandise and informing the public about Pediatric Cancer. We were able to raise and donate over $2000 to the organization.</p>

<p>NIKE club: Created t-shirts to help raise money for relief in Haiti. </p>

<p>Volunteer:
ECLC - school for the disabled; worked with 7-11 year olds with various disabilities such as Down syndrome, autism, etc. 100+ hours</p>

<p>Jun Choi Internship:A campaigning internship for the mayor of Edison during the spring of 2009 in preparation for the June 2, 2009 election for the Democratic nomination. Involved in the town’s social and community affairs. Helped prepare materials, attend political rallies, and participated in phone banks. 100+ hours</p>

<p>I know my SAT scores were very low for NYU, but I'm hoping I'll do well on the ACTs this month and maybe I'll have a shot for ED...? My dad is really against me applying ED since I really want to go there. So I'm not sure...am I even qualified?</p>

your ACT should make up for it.
stress your 11:11 thing wherever you can. because you can drag it out and make that seem pretty impressive. same with your jun choi stuff. </p>

<p>ACT should cover up many other things that you have. GPA is low, but I don’t know the NYU applicant stats. </p>

<p>Write good essays, and be sure to emphasize your accomplishments and ECs.</p>

<p>First and foremost with NYU, can you pay in full?</p>

<p>It’s a major reach but higher scores will help. They will know where you rank, being top 10% will also help.</p>

<p>Yeah I think I might be able to pay for NYU in full. That would help, wouldn’t it? Also, if I get at least a 30 on my ACTs that should help too right?</p>
