@boogapenguin I’ve spent hours reading old threads and from what i can tell the FA change theory is 100% legit for domestic applicants. No matter how much NYU denies it a change in FA leads to an acceptance.
Also, check Albert on the 15th instead of email. If you get in, Albert will change and will show a green accept button a half hour before you get your email. If you get the green, you got in!
@shady16 Np. I was in your shoes a few months ago and was stressed as hell lol! I have heard in previous years of people getting the FA change as late as a couple days before the decision day.In ED1 this year, I think a few people got the change a couple days before, but the majority usually got the change a week - 10 days before.
And also don’t do what I did lol. I waited up all night on decision day and got no sleep. I expected decisions to start coming in at around midnight. In reality, the first wave of rejections didn’t start until 2am ish. Rejections waves were finished at around 11am and acceptances didn’t come out until 2:30. The first thing I wanted to do after I got my decision was go to sleep. Some people set the nyu admissions email account as a VIP on their iPhone so that when they received an email from admissions, an alarm would go off.
I realise this may have been brought up many times before, but let us clarify once and for all: Is the FA change theory valid for international applicants? Any trend at all?
@1013gattca if you got the change as an international applicant you are still VERY likely to get in. Generally the trends are not as consistent with international applicants though
I’ve seen that if an international applicant gets the fa change, it doesn’t represent anything and the admission decision can still go either way. From ED1 some international applicants for the change and go t accepted while others who also got the change got rejected. And a majority of the applicants didn’t get the change and they’re decision went either way as well. So essentially, the fa change for international applicants doesn’t really tell you anything. And if you don’t believe me you can go and read through the ED1 page
but uh, it’s safe to say, as a domestic applicant with the FA change, I’m getting in? I applied to Stern as my primary and CAS as my secondary. Do you think I could be admitted to Stern or CAS?
check your application status on Albert. If they are considering you for CAS, your school will change to CAS as opposed to Stern. If you got the change and it still says Stern, you are very likely to get into Stern. @dreamingofnyu101, Expect acceptances and Albert changes to start at around 2:30
