NYU ED2 2019 Discussion/Decision Thread

@ImNYUobsessed‌ by regions as in the places closest to NYU get to know first or is it like alphabetical?

Last year, the changes on Albert took place about 1:30 Central…the actual emails showed about 20 minutes or so later. It was a massive wave…seems like the majority of people on CC got theirs between 2 and 3 central. Waiting on daughter number 2 now.

I got accepted to Stern last year at 3:15 PM by email. I live in NJ.

do you think rejection waves are over?

People were getting rejected up to noon-1 PM last year. Not saying this year will be the same, just sharing what I observed last year.

Honestly I feel like they “stopped” around noon…then nothing for a couple hours, then acceptances. There were a few rejections at the end, seemed like international students if I remember correctly.

Sounds about right, I remember a big time gap in between the late morning rejections and the widespread 3 PM acceptances.

so most likely one more rejection wave to go?

Impossible to say for sure but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was one more.

someone in my area already got rejected but I live in Canada so idk if I’m safe from rejections for a while. Currently dying because still no email… thought you guys said it was based on regions.

That seems accurate following last years patterns. I’ll be pretty happy if it’s 12:00 Central and there’s no email.

@DreamingOfNYU101‌ i got my rejection at 2 am of NYC time zone

I got rejected around 1:45 AM. I had the FA change… So that debunks that theory lol. I’m very devastated folks. I’m going to try to appeal even though they pretty much tell you not to. NYU is still the dream for me. I’ll transfer if anything.

@212hopeful‌ are you international?

Do i get rejected or deferred from this email saying that "Although we are not able to offer you admission to any of NYU’s campuses at this time, we would like to again review your application within the context of our Regular Decision applicant pool. "

Rejected by Tisch :frowning:

@Applyingtostern‌ that sounds like a deferral

how usual do they give out deferral though, seems weird to me as someone in the thread said ed2 never gives out deferral.

@Applyingtostern‌ I heard the same thing…but it definitely sounds like it. I guess there are exceptions to every rule.

@212hopeful‌

What did your FA screen say on Albert?
