@nyuclassof2017 I completely agree with you, it is a very VERY small number in comparison to the actual number of applicants.
Honestly, though, facts are facts. Naturally the NYU admissions office will not say ‘oh, yeah, you didn’t get the link? You’re not in.’ They’re still going to want to give students a chance to hope
I cried my eyes out for two days but now I’m fine I’d rather be rejected through my own findings rather than a sympathetic letter that is sent out to thousands of students but I guess life goes on, right? There’s no harm in re-applying later this year. This time I won’t make the mistake of applying ED 2. Logically, ED 2 applicants will mostly be those who:
Didn’t get their ED 1 choice
Have comparitively lower stats and have NYU as a stretch school
Most RD applicants will probably be using NYU as a back up, etc. This is probably the reason why 53% of the ED 1 applicants were admitted and 18% of the ED 2 applicants were admitted in one of these years.

I’m sorry I’m rambling. Getting rejected from NYU is like being dumped by a boyfriend, except you don’t get any closure apart from an e-mail :P

I suppose I’ll try to transfer for spring 2014. The transfer acceptance rate is about the same as the freshman acceptance rate so I might as well. All is not lost!

The EDII acceptance rate was that low, but that was mainly because that was the first year NYU implemented ED II. Now, I believe the admission rates should have reached equilibrium.

Are admission rates really still that low for ED 2??? Even for NYUAD? I only applied to NYUAD, and attended a Candidate Weekend. About how many students would be selected from the 84 that were present? I was told that they select more from the first two CWs and less from the last two…
Can anyone provide any feedback?
Also, some candidates have not seen a change in the FA status. Would me having a change be a good sign???

hey does anyone know what time ED II results will come out in Asia? I’m an international student so if results are scheduled for the 15th then it will be sometime on the 16th right?

I wish I had never realized that there was a change in my FA, I’m even more anxious now. I’m continuously told that I should be celebrating because it’s clearly a good sign, but I just don’t want to get my hopes up in any way until the emails start rolling in. I’m both dreading and anxiously awaiting the 15th. :(

Guys, those of you who had a change in their financial aid statuses, what did it change from? What was before 2013-2014 award not accessible (or whatever it changed to)? Thank you!

I’m so confused. When you guys click financial aid summary, what does it say? Mine doesn’t say 2014 but it also doesn’t say that it’s not found. I have a line for 2012 and a line for 2013 and it says Award Access not available yet for both. Is that similar to what the people who saw changes saw? Or is that how it’s supposed to be before the change? I’m freaking out over here, jesus christ. Help please?

Here are a few points that might be able to calm everyone down:

For me at the aplication status section Albert still shows that I have my testing requirements missing. I called them twice and wrote them an e-maild about it like a month ago. All three times they said that they received everything they even read my scores back on the phone to make sure that they have it. The point is Albert is not necessarily 100% correct.

If you beleive that a change means admission then do not worry. There is a reason why they are releasing the information on the 15th and after. They are going through everything gradually and there is still four days left. Admission officers and data entry personeel are working 'til the last minute often after hours. If they knew all the results and every package would be ready they would have sent us the e-mails already!

If they need more information etc… they will not just call you four days before the results because that would be pretty obvious. Or at least that is what I think.

Perhaps you got in or but you did not get an award so keep your hopes up until 15th!!
GOOD LUCK!!!
