NYU EDII Housing Change and Result Disclosure Thread 2020

@adreamer22 also in terms of time frame, the earliest mention of a housing change in the ED1 pool was so late because nobody had even mentioned it. once people checked, they reported what they had. everyone just knew about the FA change, which happens later.

@pizzaandpeonies how do you check the FA change?

@curiousminds01 nobody has received it yet and it won’t occur until later, but you go into albert and look under the financial aid summary and it changes from access not available to 2016-2017 freshman. HOWEVER, this is waaay less reliable than housing change since so many people didn’t receive it and got in

Hi Guys,
Did anyone who applied to Tandon receive a housing change yet?

So i think the second wave has just passed since no more people received house changes today to our knowledge. Then i will guess the third wave will come next Wed or Thur.
But if anyone do receive house change before that date, report it plz!

Guys, they’re not randomly or intentionally changing housing statuses. 63,000 people applied to NYU this year. They honestly don’t even have time for that. The housing change is most likely being done by an error in their internal student management/acceptance system. When you get accepted, I’m assuming they change your status, which links back to a database. The housing application would then check this database to see what to show you, and because you’ve been accepted, it shows “Freshman”. It’s all automated.

Not to mention, I honestly believe they don’t care enough to purposely come to CC and change the housing status of people to screw with us. They have more important things going on. Additionally, that’s incredibly ethically wrong.

The fact that you got into NYU means that you have a certain level of intelligence. Please try showing it.

@dehca2016 THANK YOU FOR THIS

ED2 comes out in two weeks. There were probably a number of applicants. I’m sure many decisions have been made at this point. Additionally, it doesn’t make sense why that would change if you weren’t accepted.

Hey, guys,
My status changed to freshman today. Two days ago it was still Non-Renewable.
CAS:Economy
SAT: 2220
GPA: my school doesn’t calculate, but probably between 3.8 to 3.95?
&6 AP, but I’m a international student so APs won’t make my GPA higher.
EC: economy club founder and president; volunteer in psychological hospital, and children’s aid foundation; interned in financial talent research institute; summer program; national debate champion.

I think the admission office still has a long way to go, so relax if nothing has changed.
Also, the final result will be released in just 2 weeks, just wait!
Best luck to everyone!

@Erinyes3028

Congrats! But in all honesty, did you actually expect to not get accepted? 3.9 GPA (assuming UW) and 2220 SAT? Those are amazing and way above CAS Econ’s averages.

How do you check your housing?

housing.nyu.edu/apply

Housing Change: NO

(With that, even if you don’t get the housing change, don’t stress. Nothing is set in stone until actual decisions come out)

@Fazioli Do you have the housing change now after being admitted?

If I really do get in, I actually need a lot of FA to make NYU affordable so we’ll see lol

@Fazioli that’s weird that yours says nonrenewable undergrad after being admitted, because that means your housing will not be able to be renewed…

@pizzaandpeonies I think he means he didn’t see the Housing Change before being admitted, but he also says in a different comment that he never really checked the portal.

@renegade23 wth why did he make that comment then smh he’s skewing our data

@pizzaandpeonies I think he didn’t check it before the result came up, that doesn’t mean he didn’t get a change…I have some friends whose housing changed the night before in ED1

Just to clarify for all you people out there (especially @pizzaandpeonies since I’m “skewing” the data) I didn’t check the portal much for the FA change. Since FA change only occurred for one night during ED1 before NYU changed it, I missed it and was unable to see if I got it or not. I know for sure though that I didn’t get the housing change until after I was accepted because I was checking the day before and the day of.
