Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

So I’m extremely anxious to find out the NYU decision for my application as a Politics major at CAS. I can share some of my stats later, but I wanted to ask everyone a question.

Every year around this time, we all start flipping the heck out over FA and housing changes. So, just out of curiosity, what’s everyone’s status?

I have the FA change that’s apparently a good sign, but I don’t have a housing change yet. Is it too early? Do you think that my participation in the SPS Program this summer impacts what the housing page says? I was there for two weeks to take a writing course and an urban studies course. They had me dormed in Founders’ Hall.

Anyway, for the curious:
ACT: 31 comp (36 English, 31 Reading, 28 Math, 29 Science, with a 10/12 in writing)
GPA: 3.6-3.7 unweighted. Unsure of my weighted because of not seeing my transcript, but I’ve taken all honors, IB, and AP for my entire school career.
Current course load: IB English HL, IB Psychology HL, IB/AP Enviro (taking both exams), AP Stats, AP Music Theory, AP Micro, AP Gov, AP Macro (next semester), Honors US History, Television Production, and Honors Choir
ECs: I have countless ones I am involved in, lots of honor societies, and some pretty good leadership positions. Additionally, I volunteer a lot for political (specifically Democrat) events or media outreach and do weekly service at my Catholic church.

About me: Female, white, 100% Polish-American
State: FL
School: I was in a private school, but switched to public because of a combination of bullying and tuition being too high for my parents

I think the housing changes don’t usually come out until the week of, if not the day before decisions are released. I wouldn’t be too concerned.

Congrats on the FA change! Last year seemed to make the FA change less of a reliable indicator on acceptance, but I’d still consider it a good sign.

My FA status says “award access not available” and it says “select year” but doesn’t have a year to choose from, which stresses me out a bit. But I’m an international student (FA change for intls have always been less predictable) and I did not apply for FA, and last year, people who did not apply for FA seemed to not get the change?
If you go through last year’s ED thread, the FA change seems less reliable than in previous years. Ugh, nothing to do besides play the waiting game I guess.

Applied to Steinhardt MCC

UW GPA: 3.78
SAT (old, superscore): 2110
EC: officer positions in clubs, internship, service projects, etc. Good but not exceptional
Courses: I go to a really small school (50 kids in ny class) with fewer AP and honor courses available, but took as many as my schedule would allow.
Awards: National French Exam and honor roll (plus honor societies) that’s about it lol
Asian female, international student (s.korea)

Your stats are great! Steinhardt MCC is my second choice. I want to be someone in politics, like an advisor or speechwriter/staffer, but also being a news producer interests me.

And mine says the same, except for 2018 which says not available for financial aid and not awards. Good luck, fren! :smiley:

Mine only says “award access not available” but has no drop down for a year. Is that bad?

Not sure, emmataylor04. Mine has a table, trying to remember if there’s a dropdown. It’s like a chart with 2016,17,and 18.

Wouldn’t worry too much anyway! It’s not the most important thing :wink: just a small correlation and they do it in waves.

Wasn’t the change suppose to say something like “No self service access for this aid year” or something?

In previous years on the cc forums, the original was award access not available but the change was something else. And which year is the change suppose to be on? I have 2016,2017, and 2018 on mines.

I just checked more forums. From what I’ve seen, the change is the year and award access not available. But maybe I’m wrong!

Guys the way they do admissions is by state so of u havent seen a change your state might not have gone yet! Good luck !
