NYU Film & Television Application

Hello!

I will be applying to the NYU Film & TV Production major this fall, and just had a few questions for accepted/current students. I’ve been a full time dual enrollment student since my junior year and will be graduating with my A.A. degree the spring before high school graduation. For anyone that might have gone through a similar process, do you happen to know if NYU accepts some of those 60 Gen. Ed. credits? Are they like Chapman University and just simply cap off at 32 credits max, or do they not accept any at all?

Also, regarding the actual application, has anyone here gotten accepted by submitting a sequence of ten to fifteen still images as their creative submission? Everyone I’ve talked to has submitted a short film instead, and I was just curious as to how the process of submitting images instead worked.

Thank you in advance!

You should go to the “Film & Visual Arts Majors” forum for questions specific to the Tisch application process. There will probably be some knowledgeable contributors there.

I transferred a few years back. I believe the max that they accept is 56 credits. However, they also do require that you’re there for at least 4 semesters and attend a summer course.

You really need to speak to them directly. I know that they are particular about what they accept. D was not able to transfer in 8 science credits because the classes were taught in her high school and not on a college campus. She had passed a Pearson test and followed a college curriculum and received college credit, but it was still not enough.

So I would call the department and ask them specific questions.
