is it really impossible to receive a full ride or a financial aid package that is acceptable with loans less than 10k?

Yes, I do not believe there is anything such as a full ride at NYU.

The top dollar amount I’ve heard so far WAS $25,000 then $30,000 which just went to $32,000. So that’s against an average COA of $55,000 right now. That’s pretty much for a merit/need combo. Tippy top of the class, plus very low income. BUT…that about covers tuition, so…if you could get a low cost triple in the $6000s…and you have to eat either at home or at school so the “board” cost you can maybe figure separately. And you can get work study for a few thousand. It’s “do-able”…but has to be a “perfect storm”.

NYU stinks at FA for the majority of students. I know of no one who receives a full ride.
