I know I’m in a totally different boat than most of you guys since I applied to NYU RD so I expect to hear back from them on April 1. But I’m worrying that if I get in I probably won’t be able to cover the costs at all. My family’s EFC is 0 since my single non-college educated mom doesn’t hold a big salary paying job,but she tries and manages to pay whatever bills so at least were not on the street. But will NYU look at that and say “Meh we’ll give you have half take it or leave it.” I’ve heard they don’t give the best FA. Is anyone in a similar financial situation that got accepted ED?

I’m in the same boat as you guys, but then I figured out that I had (unknowingly) forgotten to send in my CSS Profile and my TAP; I submitted them both today. I tried calling the financial aid office today, but they were closed due to it being Presidents’ Day, so I’m going to call tomorrow figure out if everything is straightened out.

Just called the FA office. They said they’re taking a few more days to determine my award. I don’t know if that’s bad news or good news.

I sent in the FAFSA and the CSS. What is the TAP?

@moviepyro : Maybe we’re getting full rides… (or nothing) ! haha

The TAP is some financial aid form for students attending post-secondary institutions in the state of New York, but I figured out that it was automatically submitted with my FAFSA, so if you submitted your FAFSA application to NYU, you have nothing to worry about.

Also, I called the financial aid office today and should be getting a package before March 15, so I’m good in that department.

@thomas29 Haha. Doubt it. I could definitely use a good FA package, but my dad’s a surgeon. There’s people far more in need of a full ride than I am.

@moviepyro: same for me, unfortunately haha ! I will update once I get it! I’ll attempt to call them today to ask them when I should expect to receive the FA information…

@Thomas29 and @moviepyro, I also got admitted to Tisch for ED 2 but I still don’t have access to my financial aid as well.

Im guessing that not really good news…

I got nothing, just the loans. My guess is our awards took longer to arrive because someone was arguing our cases, but didn’t win out in the end, at least in my case. The rents say they didn’t expect much better, and they’re prepared to pay the cost. They’re not happy about walking away from the 50k URI offered me though.

same, only got 65,000 in loans -_-

Is that what is said on Albert? Did you receive an e-mail to notify you of the change ?
Thanks

I got an email from NYU financial aid but it didnt say anything.
The actual information was on Albert.

Thanks! Good luck then, I hope you are able to enroll anyways.
