I read that the average package NYU gives out is $17000, but most of that could be loans...I was just wondering how much grant money people got in their financial aid packages (not including the loans).

I recieved a full tuition package, without loans. You can take a stab at guessing where I am going to college.

was your full tuition package completely need-based? or is it a scholarship?

I got $0 without loans.

A Grand Spanking Total Of An Extravagent:

$0.

I got no grants, but a merit scholarship.

Do they even give out grants???

Also I don't get it -- I thought NYU didn't give full-tuition scholarships? I thought they only gave up to $25,000 in merit?

$7500 in CAS Scholarship, and Im a transfer student so I guess Im pretty lucky. Still too expensive though.

20k scholarship, a little more in loans

10k CAS Scholarship.. 4k work study

not enrolling though

One of the rare $5000 trustee scholarship thing for Tisch. Tisch kids gets so screwed when it comes to money. I heard they only give like 3% merit stuff...is this true?

8K for a "GSP" scholarship (was 7, but my parents appealed)
4K work study

with loans, scholarships and grants combined I recieved a whopping zero dollars and zero cents

my parents are paying in full so as you can see, i received NO aid.

i love how people either get a ton of money or absolutely nothing at all.

Nothing....

20K scholarship and a little over 9000 in pell and tap grants so I guess i'm one of the luckier ones

25K scholarship! NYU ROCKS MY SOCKS. Im choosing nyu over princeton bc of how much they love me...and i love them!

nothing

im an international student tho

10 from the college... must go find private scholarships now.

I got lucky. I got a 15,000 trustee scholarship plus a 2,500 chancellor's grant (didn't have this at first, we appealed) plus work study and loans and it adds up to a little more then 26,500 a year.
