NYU freshman housing

Hey guys, does anyone have any advice on which freshman dorms are the best, or which ones to avoid? Weinstein seems nice, but I've heard the rooms aren't so great, and I've heard lots of conflicting opinions about Third North.

Also, even if you don't request low cost housing (I'm not), is there still a chance that you could end up in a triple? I'd prefer to be in a double, definitely.

Lastly, what do you guys think about 12th street? Good idea since it'll probably nice, or kind of a gamble since it's so new?

I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks a lot!

If you haven’t visited this site already I think it’s definitely a good tool to gaining a little more insight on the residence halls. From what I’ve read it seems like 12th street will be the best simply because it is the newest, however because it’s so new it’s hard to find much info on it.

I’ve seen a room in Weinstein, I thought it sucked quite frankly. Unless you can deal with a cinderblock room for a year, I wouldn’t recommend actually living there. But easy access to Upstien and Downstien is a plus.
