ok, im getting ahead of myself by like four years, but do lots of NYU students go into NYU's graduate schools, like law and stern?

i wanna be in nyu law, because staying in one school for seven years sounds appealing to me.
Are the graduate students nice? Do the graduate schools 'favor' NYU students in admission?
Should I be worried about more pressing matters like finding a roommate???

yeah, you might not even want to GO to graduate school in four years. plus, -technically-, those aren’t graduate schools, those are professional schools. GSAS, Tisch, Courant and Steinhardt have their own graduate programs.

plus, undergraduate prestige is independent of graduate prestige, which is measured on a different scale.

but for what it’s worth, NYU Law and Stern’s MBA programs are terrific.

no, they don’t favor NYU undergrads.

yes, you shouldn’t be worrying about this. ask this again in three year, when you’re a junior.

yea, its unhealthy.

i can smell the lsat’s already

getting into law or stern business isn’t as easy as it sounds, even if you are coming from an NYU undergraduate school. You still need to take all the preliminaries. Also, most business schools discourage students from going straight to Business school. Even with a high GMAT, most business schools require you to have full time work experience. On the other hand, law school is a bit easier on experience but NYU law is top 5. so you will need at least a 170 LSAT score and high GPA to be competitive

schools don’t favor, but a lot of NYU students don’t get into NYU law

ya it’s definitely true that most schools don’t give preference to their undergrads for grad school. They want a diverse class for their grad programs just like they do for their undergrad.

a lot of PEOPLE don’t get into NYU Law. it’s insanely competitive.

I mean it is ranked 5th in the country right behind Yale, Harvard, Stanford, and Columbia so it doesn’t surprise me at all. If you want to study law in New York your only real options are NYU and Columbia soooo you connect the dots.
