NYU HEOP Class of 2017 (2013)

Hey everybody! I just thought Id join the club of accepted HEOP students at NYU. Congratulations everyone!

Congrats bro! Looking forward to meeting you all on saturday. It’ll be interesting trying to figure out who is who from here lol mine is simple bc my name is in my username

Are you guys bringing someone to the orientation?

Is the CCP mandatory for incoming freshman to CAS or can we decide not to join in it?
I wanna join but I’m just wondering.

@duckuy1995 I called because I wanted to know the same thing and they said that if your parent can come that they should because they have certain events for them to take part in.

Whats a ccp?I feel so out of the loop compared to everyone i might bringmy sister

@0osparkleso0 it’s the College Cohort Program

Could you guys share your stats just GPA and sat. I’m hopefully applying to nyu heop next year.

do heop students need to applyy for low cost housing options

@cupcakes they only give us 10k for the meal plan and housing so if you choose other options besides low cost ud have to pay the difference i applied for rubin as my first option because it was the least expensive

Does anyone know how the rooming situation will work!? Will we be able to pick our own roomates if so how? Will we room with strictly heop students or anyone that goes to nyu?

Who is going to be at the pre freshman orientation tomorrow?
I’m excited to meet everyone!

Right here!! We should all write our usernames on a name tag so we know who’s who! Lol

I’ll be there too! Glad all of us can finally meet xD

I’m going! @duckuy1995 I think that’s a good idea. My name is Miasia though so you’d know it’s me

I was Michael!
Rochester~

Can someone please explain to me what exactly the waves mean for the cohort program. Does it really matter which wave I choose?

How was the orientation? What did you guys do there

@daday123 we had a mini intro to op programs.
We then divided into groups and took a writing and math placement exam.
Then we met with our counselor and had group discussions based on what program we were in (ex. LSP, Cas, Stern etc) and talked about the summer program and other questions we had.
Then we had a group project with our cohorts and then were dismissed with some NYU “swagg.” lol

While we did this our parents learned the logistics of NYU and the programs.

@boywithpan thanks for replying. Were there a lot of people that got accepted to heop there?
