I was invited to NYU interview via Skype? Is it a good thing or bad thing. I am an international student. What kind of questions do they ask during the interview? Also if I dont do the interview will it affect my application badly?
Who is doing the interview, an admissions officer or an alumni interviewer? Since it can be done at your convenience via Skype, not doing it would be a signal of lack of interest, imo.
The interview will be conducted by a current student. Does interview mean that I am on the edge of being accepted or rejected
I am really worried that I will screw up my interview and that it will have a bad effect on my application.
In the email it is said that it would be a casual conversation. What kind of questions will there be? I am truly worried :-S
Just do the interview and don’t worry it will be fine
If NYU is one of your top choices, you should definitely do the interview; as someone already said, not doing the interview would be interpreted as lack of interest and maybe insecurity. As an international student, they probably want to test how comfortable you are having a conversation in English. You probably either have a low TOEFL/IELTS score or you didn’t use English properly in your application, but they still want to give you a shot to prove yourself. Don’t be too nervous, I doubt they will use complex English.
did you do the interview? I have the same interview tomorrow via Skype so I am really worried… If you did do it how did it go and was it difficult?
