NYU keeps harassing me!

They keep sending me cards, brochures, and thick books every week. They're going way overboard. I gave them my email to send me some information about the school because I was interested, but now they just don't stop. I think they're desperate, and I'm really on the verge of not applying there this year.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

No, but I JUST got an email from them today telling there is a wrong address entered in under my file, and they were asking for my real one
And at first I thought someone was trying to get my address, but its a legit email

Don’t give it to them!!! They’ll harass you like they harass me.

they are not desperate to have you… dont flatter yourself

Ouch. That was harsh. :(

they usually just want your moneys.
wustl is worse. -.-

Haha, I had the same problem. I applied for transfer to both NYU and Columbia, got into both and after NYU said they would only accept 13 out of 60 credits, I went with Columbia. NYU won’t leave me alone. They keep calling, sending letters, emailing me - I have got a huge ass stack of letters from NYU even after I repeatedly told them I’m going to Columbia and the last day to accept NYU was like I don’t even know how long ago. They’re still knocking on my door.
I feel stalked.

lmao yes i feel harassed too =[ just 2 days ago i received a really thick book from them. they’ve done everything; invited me to tours, mailed/emailed me guides, i hope this won’t last for long.

PlattsburghLoser- where did you go pre-Columbia?

SUNY Plattsburgh then Fordham now Columbia
I’m on my third transfer. But I know somebody who has transferred six times (so he claims) so I don’t feel so bad.

Oh wow. Why did you transfer so many times? What year are you in? Did you not like Fordham? I’m looking into it as one of my backups. Sorry for the influx of questions! :)

OMG, they send me so much mail too! And I have never showed the slightest interest in them! Giant booklets, all this stuff. It’s ridiculous.

I actually liked SUNY Plattsburgh a lot, but I left because I’m from Maryland and getting to and from the school during breaks and move-in days was a huge hassle.

Then I went to Fordham, hated it. I couldn’t stand that school. The only thing I really liked was there was doing research in the robotics lab (which luckily, I still get to do even though I won’t be a student anymore).
Everyone was so pretentious and nobody seemed happy. Coming from a school where everybody got along, that was a bit of a shocker for me.

And then I also left because I didn’t like my professors in my major’s department and because the school is so small you keep getting the same professors, and there was one I really couldn’t stand. I didn’t learn anything from them. I’m voluntarily taking some of my CS classes over at Columbia because I feel my Fordham professors taught me nothing about the subject.

Plus Fordham has like two engineering classes and since I want to be an engineer, I kind of had to leave, haha.
I really have a long novel-length list of why I’m anti-Fordham.

Lol! I’m glad that I’m not alone. NYU seems to be after everyone.

I havent gotten much from NYU but WUSTL has been bothering me like crazy :-|

They even do it at the graduate level…

PlattsburghLoser- Thanks for the info! I heard Fordham has a good IR program and I like that it’s in NY, but maybe I’ll stay away. I also heard they have the crappiest food.

Lol. That makes you and Phuloridian.

Now I’m really afraid!

I’d use it as a very last resort - and even then, stick with the Rose Hill campus.
