NYU LSP Economics

Hey guyz! I got accepted into LSP and i wanted to major in economics but i'm not sure if i can finish on time. Is it possible to finish by senior year the requirements for an economics major?
also, anyone who is lsp econ or knows, can you give me a run down of the courses that will have to be taken freshman and sophomore year.

Yes! I got LSPed as well and I plan on majoring in Economics. I am an incoming freshman but talked to the admissions counselors. Basically, we would complete the first two years of general courses. Then, after our second year, we transfer into the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) to finish our degree. Still done in four years just we would not get to start working on our degree right away.

And here are the course requirements: http://core.ls.nyu.edu/page/curriculum09

i was wondering how the courses for freshman and sophomore year would be like including the required courses for LSP for a prospective economics major. I know freshman year you have to take 3 courses and 1 elective per semester and 1 course and 3 electives per semester sophomore year but idk which electives to take and when to take all the required courses that would put me in good shape to finish up junior and senior year as an economics major.

can any lsp econ people give some advice please?!?!

Don’t worry, really. LSP has required general ed class just like CAS, which is the school you’re probably thinking of transferring to for Econ. I’m thinking about maybe majoring in CAS Econ and I’m in LSP as well. I think you can already take a CAS econ class Freshman fall semester - not sure if there’s a math requirement, but I took precalc fall semester and I’m taking micro econ next semester. Honestly, don’t worry. The point of LSP is to get you to transfer to other schools and I’m sure you will graduate on time. Just talk to your advisor once you attend school and she/he will definitely help you. Seriously, you’re worrying too much!
