NYU Need Aware for Waitlist Applicants

I was just reading my Waitlist email from NYU and it said this at the very bottom of the email…

" Finally, please understand that we may need to consider one’s request for financial aid before making an offer of admission if we are able to admit students from our wait list. "

So this means that NYU will take into consideration your financial circumstances when making wait list decisions?

Yes. I would assume that this means that full pay waitlisters will have an advantage over those with high need.

pretty much what westchestermom said. NYU has a reputation for being stingy, along with their low endowment.

Would students with full ride scholarships have an advantage too? Like GMS or other ones, or do they just mean financially without scholarships?
