Hello,

I'm an international student, and I want to major in Theatre & Performing Arts, and minor in Creative Writing, at UC Berkeley. I was wondering if NYU is better than UCB.

Thanks.

You mean better for what you’re studying, right? Berkeley’s english program is top, but you’re only minoring in that and NYU has a better theatre program so if you’re sure you want to focus on performing arts then ya go to NYU.

However, a ton of people change their path during undergrad and I think Berkeley is a better “safe bet” since, generally speaking, it is regarded as a better school overall than NYU.

Thanks, it helped a lot. So it’s harder to get into Berkeley, compared to NYU, right?

I would say definitely yes.

Our kid got into both. As California residents, sticker price was $66K (NYU) vs. $30K (UCB). A no brainer. Go Bears!
