I got into CAS (but I'm thinking I may want to transfer to Stern... I'm becoming more interested in econ, etc and I may want to pursue a career in ibanking), but it seems like a realllly expensive school. I didn't get into any real UCs except UCSB and UC Davis (i'm a california resident), so I was wondering, what're people's opinions on this? Is NYU really worth the 30 or so more than Davis?

Well, if you want to go into i-banking, NYU is probably a good place to go, because of its location. That's assuming you transfer into Stern... about 97% of Stern graduates have jobs by the September after graduation. If it's more economics, I heard CAS's economics department is good anyway. As I don't know much about the UCs, I don't know if it's worth paying 30k more for NYU, but I do think NYU is a good investment if you're looking to go into a business-related field.

Does anyone know how hard it is to transfer into Stern? (I'm not looking for a backdoor here...my interests have genuinely shifted)

NYU. Easily. Go to Davis if you want to go to vet school.

Davis is the most happening place between Sacramento and Vacaville.

go to nyu, but stern transfer is freakin hard as hell. harder than applying as a freshmen

Here's the rank:

NYU - top 34

UC Davis - 50

Most people in America have heard of NYU because of its strong history and prestige. Most people in America have never heard of UC Davis... unless they live in California.

If you want Econ and business, you CANNOT pass up NYU!
