NYU Shanghai Class of 2018

I was just contacted for an interview for NYU Shanghai - how many people are being interviewed?

I too am being interviewed but I JUST got my email. Does that mean I got rejected by the NYU campus?

What did the email say? A woman told me she’d reach out to me later this week to schedule an interview, but it is Friday and she hasn’t done so.

Would you mind posting your stats? I’m curious what the range is for interviewed Shanghai applicants. And did you put Shanghai as your first choice?

The email directs me to a scheduling site. I actually chose NYUSH as my secondary place. LOL I was about to ask you for stats too.

When did you get the email? I haven’t gotten my official email yet, but a woman told me that she was going to send it, so I don’t know.

I got it today, but I never received an email saying that I was going to be contacted.

What did the scheduling thing look like, and did it give you any indication of how many people they are interviewing? And who emailed you? Did it seem like a robotic email sent to a list of people, or more personalized?

By the looks of it, the email is robotic and there are not many review days in November. The scheduling thing allows me to click on days to review times I could select to be interviewed.

What do you mean by review days?

Hmm, I’m worried - the woman said that she was going to reach out to me to schedule an interview. Is today the only day they are sending out invitations? I doubt you know…
Could you paste what the email said?

I believe that if the admission officer said that she will schedule an interview with you, she will. There are days that she will be interviewing people. I don’t believe that today will be the only day so you should keep your eyes peeled to your email.

Thanks. Yeah I’m just nervous. I mean you can imagine how nervewracking this is haha. Was your interview invitation from a specific person, or from an automated email sender? Maybe specific admissions officers have their own lists. Do you know the name of the person who emailed you?
I’m worried because she said “later this week” and today is Friday…

Hi guys!
I also was contacted for a phone interview for NYUSH. Have any of you done your interview yet? I had mine about two weeks ago.

Yeah, I had my interview a little over a week ago. It went well, I think. Questions were pretty standard.
How did your interview go?

I had mine on November 19th. I think it went well but it was hard to tell because it was over the phone and more difficult to gauge how my interviewer actually felt. Have you heard anything from NYU since the interview? I haven’t heard anything.

Also, has anyone toured NYU Shanghai? I heard a rumor that if we are accepted they send up to Shanghai to tour the campus, but I don’t know if that’s true

They did last year and reimbursed the students’ tickets.

Thank you!

It’s hard to say what they will do this year, but yeah, last year only ED1 accepted students were able to visit in April. For everyone else, there wasn’t enough time to arrange something.

do you guys know if everyone was interviewed? i had my interview a few weeks ago, and i’m anxious to know.

Hey, not everyone was interviewed. Only competitive candidates.

How did you interview go? Who interviewed you, and did they say anything about the admissions process? Also, where did you put Shanghai - was it your first choice?
