Personally, i dont really care about the updates on business rankings.
Reading through many posts on CC, I know NYU Stern is a good target. :D

They need to start posting mean salary instead of median salary.

@tahuganh, I understand that you may not care about the rankings, and I agree it’s not about the rankings. But you seem to have misunderstood the post completely, which was more than updating people about the rankings but telling them that there is new information available about the school.

@commentcomment, I agree, it would give us a more accurate idea of how much graduates are earning.

Actually the mean salary is listed. Seems a bit high. It is also at 59k. A clearer picture will be how they calculate the salary and who their graduate pool consists. Sometimes schools only include salaries if you get a job in your major to boost their attractiveness.

For example, if you have a finance degree but do not work in finance and you are doing marketing at an advertising company, they will often not include you in the statistics.

The median salary is actually useful. The mean is simply the average and gives you no information pertaining to the number or percentage of students with salaries in different ranges. The median shows that 50% of the graduates earn above and below that amount. So if you are considered the top half of the class then you have a good shot at earning the median or above it, albeit there are tons of other factors that will come into play.

at least post credible information…businessweek isn’t even credible.
you posted the 2008 rankings lul. wharton is undisputedly #1 overall undergraduate bizschool yet businessweek listed them as 4th or something this year.

u.s. news is much more credible and the new rankings got released yesterday:

You’re right I posted the wrong linked by accident, my apologies. Here is the correct one: [Top Undergraduate Business Programs 2010 - BusinessWeek](<a href=“Bloomberg - Are you a robot?”>Bloomberg - Are you a robot?)

azn, I agree with you, but be forewarned that your post will be completely dismissed,on account of the disparity of the rankings. Everyone thinks we go by US News because we rank #5 there, while we rank 12 with Businessweek. Now, dont even get me started on Forbes…
