NYU Stern...can I make it?

Yah, so I got my winter term grades back today, and let's just say that I sat in the bathroom for 20 minutes and cried my eyes out. "My life is ruined! I don't even have a 3.5! I'm not getting into NYU! I'm not getting into college! I'm going to end up at McDonalds forever! blahblahblah..."

GPA: 3.52/3.84 CUM
-First one is the one that my school publishes...it's .3 for honors/AP
-Weird trend...fall term GPA is always lower than that of the other terms...I guess I take awhile to adjust to different styles?
-Second one is based on the most common scale...no difference for +s of -s, 1 point for honors/AP
-2 C's in math, 1 C+ in physics...otherwise, all in the B/A range...will this kill me? (The 2 C's in math was in Precal honors...the teacher is terrible...I'm dropping to precal this trimester...I'll write an explanation of those if necessary)
-Does it look bad if you get a C in precal honors, then drop to precal and get an A?

Fairly challenging class load-7 honors/AP so far, another 4-5 probably next year

SAT: ~2160 (800M, 760W, ~630CR)

SATII: 630-bio/E, ~800 USH, ~760 Math II/French
-Yes, I know these scores don't say the same thing my GPA does, but I'm really a smart person, and I work well under pressure. I don't work well when I have forever to do something: I do much better when I'm under a lot of stress-like standardized testing. I hope I could convey that through these scores(are they enough to do the function I want them to do?)...although the bio one is terrible. I hate science.

PSAT: 216/99%ile in CA...I haven't heard from NMSC yet, so I'm assuming I didn't get commended :(

I plan to apply ED by the way...

Thanx.

Dude you are fine. Just make sure you apply to other schools.

Arrrrggghhhh!!!! New updated GPA...

New GPA:
Published by the school-3.47
Public school scale (with 1 point for honors/AP)-3.83

I can get it up to a 3.58/3.92 by the end of the year and 3.67/4.01 by first trimester of next year (End of November)

Just found out today that the four kids who applied to NYU were GSP'd - all four of them. No one made it into CAS, or Stern in RD. Not even a girl that is ranked third.

I don't mind getting GSP'd-as long as I can ultimately end up in Stern.

have hope people

I meant to say (in the earlier post) four students from my kids' public school. Last year my S and three others applied from their school and they all got into the school at NYU that they applied to including the girl that was ranked third. My S is at Stern. He likes it a lot. I think this year is tougher because of the number of students and the number of schools that they are applying to. But I have hope that you will make it, next year, right? The people who apply early get the first choice of dorms. It sounds like a good plan for your GPA.

I should add "Don't stress about it!" . Look into other schools that appeal to you just as much as NYU Stern. There are so many good schools out there. Find some safeties and matches that you would enjoy just as much as Stern.
