NYU stern look at writing section?

CR and math are already troubling subjects, i don't want to concentrate too much on writing if little or any emphasis is to be placed on it. Though it belies the universal view of most high schoolers, the fact that getting a 600 writing SAT score won't really hurt your chances if that school doesn't consider it.

:) i know most people will say, just score the highest you can on all sections. of course, everyone trys to aim for that, but all I want to know is if NYU stern actually considers writing scores, or completely ignores it? also, if you mind sharing more info, how about cornell? does cornell look at SAT writing?

You don’t have to concentrate on writing, but bring it up to 650 next time you take the SAT. As a general rule, Stern cares about CR/M (700+ each is safe) but I assume they look at writing and would be concerned about a writing score of 600.

I don’t have firsthand experience with Cornell because I withdrew prior to the RD admissions decision date, but as an Ivy League university (and definitely the very small, extraordinarily selective AEM business program that I assume you applied to) admissions covers every base to find the best applicants. They probably care about writing.

on the about.com website, it shows that cornell doesn’t look at writing. NYU in general, looks at writing, but I wasn’t so sure if it’s for stern, if that was the case.
