HI!
So it’s getting close to that November 1st date and I’m really stuck between these two schools for ED. Both schools I will play golf in for sure, coaches gave me a spot. Here are some Pro’s and Con’s I gathered up. Could you guys help me analyze them? I am interested in business but am not 100% sure I want to pursue it, more like 70% sure.
NYU Stern:
Pro’s:
-in the city, so wide range of internship opportunities
-better networking for business among peers
-everyone around is motivated, driven to pursue business
Con’s:
-golf team is much better than Wellesley so school work of Stern plus traveling for golf stuff = super hard, one of my friends who did that dropped off the golf team bc couldn’t handle Stern’s workload added with athletics
-one-way track of business, switching out is not really an option as if I majored in something else I would rather go to Wellesley for it (b/c of cost I think only Stern is worth it)
Wellesley:
Pro’s:
-a lot easier to balance school work and golf
-near Boston but not too much city life
-can take classes at MIT
-can explore different career paths more easily
Con’s:
-if I end up doing business, Stern just might be the better school (networking + business fraternities)
-alumni network is really good but peer networking is not as good if I end up doing business because surrounded by all kinds of majors not just finance, stat, econ, etc.
Thank you so much!! <3
PS did an overnight at Wellesley, really liked it- I have yet to do one at Stern (scheduled sometime in the next few weeks)
