I am a entering freshman in NYU Stern School of Business. I want to go into sports business/law and I was wondering if it would be best for me to stay in Stern, considering their reputation, or to internally transfer to NYU SCPS for a degree in Sports Management, something I feel more passionate about, but the school lacks the reputation, resources, and career services that Stern provides.

That sounds like a tricky situation, but from what I know, I’d advise you to stay in Stern. A degree from Stern, as you already know, is extremely prestigious and will serve you well no matter which direction you end up going in after college. If you do decide to go into sports management, I’m sure that the Stern degree will be just as good (if not probably better) than the degree from SCPS, even if that one will offer you the specific Sports Management major.

Have you looked into Stern’s specific resources and career services? It seems like they would offer opportunities in sports management since it is a branch of business.

Good luck! :)
