NYU Stern with 680 math 2?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering what my chances are at getting into my dream school aka NYU Stern School of Business, and I was wondering if I should send NYU Stern my sat 2 math score of a 680? I know that this is not good especially for a competitive program like Stern, but I am wondering if it is worth it?

Here is my info:

Also here is my SAT 1 breakdown:
CR: 620
Math:690
Writing:750
total: 2060

unweighted GPA: 3.79
Weighted GPA: 4.54
Class rank: 33/283

I took calculus AB my sophomore year and finished calculus BC my junior year and got A’s in both, but I’m not really the best test taker out there so im wondering if admissions will be like “how did she get a 680 in math 2 but have such a good math record?”

I took this program at my school called the Academy of finance my junior an senior years of high school, and I am planning to major in Finance.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

yes… I got in with a 670 in math ii so its possible

May I ask what race are u? If u are Asian or white the sat score and gpa may be a little bit low but u do have good extracurriculars!

Great EC’s and good GPA, although your class rank isn’t stellar. If I were you I wouldn’t send in my Math II since it’s drastically below average. Your M+CR score is quite low as well. If you’re a junior I’d retake both the Math II and SAT I because they’re both well below average. Since you’re sending in your SATI, the Math II isn’t necessary, and NYU’s policy is that if it’s not necessary, only send it in if it feel that it presents yourself the best way possible. Good luck!

Hope you applied elsewhere but I wish you the best of luck honey

Stern looks only at CR+M. So even though a your score is great, for Stern, a 1450+ is competitive. The 680 math 2 will also not look great. If you are a junior, retake both.

I am Asian!

(and I was accepted with that score)
