What chances do I have of getting into Stern?? Thxs
does Stern really care about Math 2 bc my precalc/trig teacher was so bad. he just skipped over the entire trig chapter so we only covered algebra :(…i’m really worried. this is my DREAM school!
Tbh I can’t be sure if applying for aid will lower chances since they say they’re need blind, but I feel that schools still look at FA to see if they want to accept people. Schools are business after all so they want to make $ with full pay students. NYU is also known to be really stingy with FA regardless.
Regarding SAT Math II. Yes, Stern really cares about it. If you look on the admissions page I think it says they recommend students to take it. They want to assure students have amazing quantitive schools with high math scores.
Gonna be hard for you sorry to say. If you’re ranked 37/461 students at your school and only have a 1410 your school probably isn’t very compettitive. Try asking you school counselor about your chances and stats if anything past students have gotten into Stern to compare to yourself. Each school is different.
About the Business, the one thing that I think isn’t that impressive is that it was basically your parents business anc you helping them. Compared to other applicants who start businesses from scratch. That’s just my take, good luck tho!
As an applicant you don’t care if a school is need aware or need blind. If you like the school, the NPC suggests it’s affordable, and it’s a good match for you, you should apply. Aware/blind just affects the chance of admission (up or down), and then usually only if you’re on the cusp. NYU gives generally poor aid, so they can afford to be truly need-blind while still requiring high-performing students. It’s called “come anyway” which picks up students who have access to non-parent funds.
