NYU Tandon vs. Cooper Union for Computer Engineering, which is better?

I’m choosing between these two colleges and need help determining which is a better choice

Isn’t cooper union 40% of the price?
NYU has more resources, but cooper union at 60% discount an easy choice?

I’d take Cooper Union in a vacuum for engineering, and if it’s cheaper, even easier!

+1 Cooper Union

Are you a commuter to both or would you need college housing?

I’d be dorming for both

Where would you be coming from (another borough, Upstate, Virginia, abroad…)?
Do you have family in NYC?
Can you afford both without any parental loans?

Location-wise Coper Union wins HANDS DOWN - Tandon is downtown Brooklyn … whereas Cooper Union is in Astor Place - a pretty awesome area.

What about in terms of engineering opportunities?

I’d be coming from Long Island where my family lives. Cooper Union is about 47% of the price of NYU if I were to be dorming.

I think academically the schools are very close. So at that price difference + location … I think Cooper Union is a clear winner.

NYU may be a better option if you decide to do something else outside out ECE …

Is the Student Residence at Cooper Union affordable for your family?
If so, it sounds like the best value - both are very reputable academically, neither will have more opportunities or a better salary as a graduate, so the difference is in student life and affordability.
