Hello everyone. I recently got accepted to NYU Tisch for drama, and I hear that the students spend like 45 hours a week in training. I was wondering if any current Tisch drama students could tell me what the course load is like? Because I want to take improv classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade and I'm going to try and get a job as well. Would I have time for all of this? Someone let me know, thanks!

Someone in my group takes improv classes @ UCB, and other have jobs. I don’t know if it would be possible to do both at the same time though, some weeks you get really overloaded with work!

My daughter was in Stella Adler for 3 years then Stonestreet and signed up for improv classes and ended up having to drop out because she had no time.

I strongly recommend that you spend at least your first semester getting adjusted to the realities of college life; you will be MUCH busier than you think! Don’t forget, in addition to your classes, you will be spending a great deal of time doing homework and rehearsing. Once you have settled in, you will have plenty of time to add extra activities if you feel you can handle them.
