I’m really nervous about applying to NYU Tisch. I don’t think my gpa is high enough and I haven’t took my sat yet but I’ll update my score once I take it. I have a 2.8 nonweighted and a 3.0 weighted so far. I’m in my second semester of junior year and don’t know how much better my gpa can get. Freshmen year I really messed up and had horrible grades and also failed Algebra I both semesters. However, my grades have been getting better and better each semester. Will NYU care about my growth according to my grades? I’m also involved in school.
I was in gymnastics and swimming freshmen year.
Did the musical sophomore year, in choir, no sports.
This year I’m still in choir and also poms.
Next year I plan on doing poms, choir, chambers, and the musical. I also don’t know if I should take regular classes (easy) or AP classes because of all the things I’m doing. I’m stressing myself out and I just need someone to talk to help.
@jay1715 NYU is one of the MT schools which considers both grades and talent-you must be both an academic fit and a fit talent-wise. There are plenty of other good MT programs which will not put as much emphasis on grades. Certainly include NYU on your list, but don’t get your heart set on it.
