NYU Tisch Summer High School 2011

Just wondering if anyone else here was applying to summer high school for Tisch this summer? How do you guys think your apps and recommendations were? Also, if anyone who attended the program last year could tell us about it I think we'd appreciate it some. Thanks!

bumpppppp, anyone?

I’m applying! I have a really good body of work on my resum

Hey guys! I applied for musical theatre:] What is everyone else going for? Best of luck on friday!

Film. I’m super anxious. My resume was pretty good, and my recs were really good though, so I’m hoping for the best.

FILM ALSO! D:
Also super nervous/anxious. Not so sure about my app, Extremely not sure about how I would get the 10k to pay for it. XP

But yeah, super excited/nervous…especially since tisch sent this email today with an ominous link…and then you click the link and its just an advertisement for their other summer programs. >__>

Decisions are supposed to be out today but I haven’t gotten anything… Has anyone else?

Nope I haven’t heard! Getting nervous!

same here! -__-

I applied to the film program and got the waitlist e-mail on Wednesday. It was in my spam folder so check there!

Thanks! Found it in my spam folder, I got accepted! :D.

Does anyone know what the film program is like? From the description (an introduction to film production, no experience necessary) it feels a little… basic. Is it really just getting introduced to film or is it a little more in-depth?

I just got my acceptance letter for the Dublin Acting Workshop. I’m a sophomore (rising junior), and I wanted to see if anyone else got accepted for this program too? I am beyond excited. I actually got my e-mail on March 30th, but I didn’t check my spam. So thank you @indy42 and @Buzzin!

awww guys, got rejected for film. /:

i actually got the email March 30th, too, but the text of the email didn’t show until i pressed “print,” so if anyone is having trouble with viewing it, just try to print the email. It says “Tisch Summer High School Program” in the subject line. XD Good luck and congrats to everyone!!!

accepted to MT! anyone else hear back from the MT program?

My daughter applied to the theater program in NY and got rejected-- which is fine because she has other choices, but I’m curious what their rationale was for acceptances/rejections since they did not ask for an audition, but rather just essays, transcript, and rec letters. Anyone have any sense of what that’s about?

To glassharmonica: I suppose it varies from year to year. One of the previous years had something like 500 students apply with 180ish spots to fill. On my letter, I was told that there was a strong response to the program this year but that just might be on all the letters. I feel as if I was waitlisted because I needed the scholarship but who knows. Good luck to your D this summer! Now to go back to refreshing my mail every hour for a response along with praying for a miracle to happen if I do get off the waitlist.

I got the acceptance email March 30th
I’m 16, (will be 17 when the program starts)
From Miami
Applied to the photography and imaging program
super excited to meet everybody
anybody else get accepted into photography any imaging?

hey, I was accepted for the musical theatre program, but applied for the scholarship. I am so concerned about how I am going to pay. luckily I live an hour by train, so Ill be able to go to Nyu and speak with someone.

got my email on wedensday too, waitlisted :/. And Buzzin, I’m tempted to believe the same thing. I only know of one person who applied for a scholarship and got in (and they weren’t awarded the scholarship. But hey, it’s not a big deal. I won’t be attending even if I were to get off the waitlist, because I too would need a scholarship. Looking at going to American University’s program. GL everybody!

Is it too late to apply? I didn’t know about the program until now and it’s my only year to apply. =/ Colleges don’t care what you do after you graduate highschool, do they?
