I wanted to know my chances (if any) for transferring to NYU CAS for the spring 2007 semester. I applied to the Metropolitan studies program and have an internship at a city planning department. I go to a community college in california and have an overall gpa of 3.55, some ECs, and 3 letters of recommendation. At my current college I have a 3.86 gpa but I used to go to the Univ. of Co. Boulder and did terrible there (2.4). My real problem is that I had an ethics code violation while there and it had a tremendous impact on my gpa. The NYU admissions office says that they don't really look negatively upon an ethics code violation as long as you're up front about it. I was up front on my application and included a complete explanation of the incident. My SAT scores are not that hot either, 1130, or my overall high school gpa 3.59. If anyone can tell me what I could expect I would be appreciative.

I believe your chances are slim. Nothing really stands out. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but a 3.55 is a low GPA for a CC. Your SAT is lower below average. Coupled with the 2.4 and Ethics violation. What did you do btw?

i cheated on homework assignments (in a nutshell). well thats about what i expected but i was hoping they really wouldn't care if you represented yourself as reformed. anyhow thanks for your thoughts but it would help me rebuild my college record if you could tell me what kinds of things would stand out on an application.
