NYU Transfer Fall 2021

Correct me if I’m mistaken, but NYU was in-person throughout the whole academic year of 2020-2021? I’m wondering this because if I do end up transferring to NYU, I feel that if they were in-person and people were able to establish their own groups and cliques, it might be a lil difficult to make friends, although I guess all transfers in any college have to face this.

hi! I’m also trying to get into this program for a 4 year college.

There were options in some but not all classes for in person learning. They were not easy to make friends in as people sat distanced and masked and could not hang around chatting in the building afterwards etc. Many people did not have an easy social time last year due to the Covid restrictions. I do not feel you would be at much of a disadvantage compared to that situation.

Looks like they had a hybrid model, half remote half in person, but you could choose all remote. Less kids on campus: 6200 vs the usual 11,000.

NYU enrolls around 900+ transfers so you’ll have a lot of people looking for friends!

hey Im applying to MCC after 2 semesters with an 3.82 GPA and 63 credits ( half of which I got at an ECHS) I am in student government at my CC and am currently an entrepreneurship major. I also listed my theatre and music activities, volunteer work, camp counselor job and current marketing/ entrepreneurship internship. Can’t wait for decisions!

ranges from mid april to june

Internal Transfer Decision dates are from April-May, External Transfer Decision dates are from May-June. Also, from previous forums, it seems like each college within NYU also has its own range of time at which It releases decisions.

Do we need to send mid-year grade reports for the Spring Semester to NYU, or should we if it will make our application stronger?

You aren’t required to send them unless NYU specifically requests them but if your mid term grades are good and they’ll strengthen your application go ahead and submit them.

Following this thread. Daughter is working on her transfer app for Clive. Will want to hear how things turn out for everyone and best of luck!

I asked the admissions and they say the decisions are expected to be released on April 1st.

AHHH that’s soon! im nervous

Me too!

I’m assuming that’s for internal transfers since the external transfer apps aren’t due until April 1st?

for external applicants?

Yes for anyone not currently at NYU the transfer application is due on April 1. Internal NYU transfers (within colleges) are due and probably have decisions earlier. It seems unlikely that any external transfer decisions would be out by April 1.
