The NYU webpage says institutional aid is only given for selected programs. Depending on which you applied, you may not be eligible for anything even if you submit the CSS Profile. Did you contact the Financial Aid Office?
im late to the convo lol. hi guys :-))
i was reading the chat and a chat I’m in on reddit about the no instuitional aid for transfers unless your in the specific programs it lists.
does this include merit based scholarships as well? ;/
According to their website:
We award very few exclusively merit-based scholarships and take into account how able a student is to pay for their education.
NYU is only able to offer institutional aid to transfer students who are admitted through one of the following programs:
Community College Transportation Opportunity Program
Second Degree Transfer Program in Rory Meyers College of Nursing (Accelerated and Non-Accelerated)
Gallatin Undergraduate Initiative for Discovery in Education
CAS Pipeline Opportunities for Inter-Collegiate STEM Education
To save time and ensure accuracy, we recommend transferring your federal tax information to your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.
Yes I’ve read that as well. Stinks. Which is why I don’t plan to do the CSS.
I find it weird how colleges are receiving so many more applications this year. I felt that with the pandemic going on, they may have reduced application numbers. But that is just speculation
They’re receiving more because 1. They went test optional, 2. Many ED schools didn’t release their decisions until after Jan 1 so kids panicked and sent out more RD apps and 3. Uncertainty as to how their apps would be viewed because of the lack of EC opportunities due to Covid as well as grading systems like pass/fail which made transcripts less reliable. Basically they spread their risk. I’ve read on the site about kids applying to 20, 25 even 35 schools. That’s clearly not the norm.
Also we’re kinda (knock on wood) towards the end. A lot of schools have announced plans to fully reopen in September and kids who deferred a year, took a gap year or went to CC for a year are all now applying.
Good point!
Anyone submitted 4.1 got their Portal yet? I got the acknowledgement email but not the portal info.
@tlk666: I submitted my application on 03/30 and received an email with portal instructions and university ID the following day.
For anyone who got their checklist, do you guys have a green tick next to your academic evaluations. Mine says that they are received but don’t have a green tick next to them
I have received for academic evaluation and a check for everything else
Ah ok. That helps a lot. Thank you. Also please keep posting any albert changes or decisions.
Hey there,
NYU released admission decisions in segments. They usually span out over a month and a half with certain schools within NYU being declared first and the others towards the end. Stern usually comes out last, around end of May/ start of June.
Do you know when Tandon and CAS release theirs?
According to previous threads, CAS starts coming out April 4th. But it may not be the case this time, cuz its a weekend and NYU usually gives out decisions on Thursdays and Fridays.
I’m wondering when Tisch might release theirs, and if it’s any different for internal transfers.
Are u an interal transfer?. Many internal transfers get their decisions in April
I am, yes. I’m just not sure when this month I might get a decision. I’m hoping it’s sooner rather than later.
Is everyone able to access their NYU email or NYU Zoom? I try to click Zoom in NYU Home and it just asks to confirm my email address.
