@Unconditional While fewer of them have internships with the big banks compared to Sternies, I have a lot of CAS econ friends who have landed good internships in large private investment banks and high fashion corporate retail.

@AoDay Thanks. That was actually what I wanted to hear. of course, I had to strive for internships, but I am very glad to know that Econ students have good internship opportunities. so you have a lot of CAS econ friends? do you know how they like to study Econ at NYU?

I wouldn’t wanna be studying econ at NYU. kids majoring in econ in CAS are sometimes referred to as Stern wannabes and rejects lol. Yes, it’s messed up, but that’s how it is apparently. imo, econ is actually just as demanding a course load as business.

hookedongtown yea… that is kinda messed up, but I won’t care too much about what other people say or think about CAS Econ as long as I have a chance to gain good experience in NYC. you think chances(internship, job, research, or academic resources) are very limited for CAS Econ students?

That, I don’t know.

Sternies are a lot more close-knit and seem to have more ‘fun’ type experiences (trips to India, Japan etc).

That’s why I prefer Stern.

@ThrowingMuses just read your short responses! They’re pretty awesome; I think you have a decent shot at any of the schools including CAS! Maybe even Stern but I think that would be a little bit more stats and EC-based than the rest. To which one did you apply?

Does having a sister of Ex-NYUian helps? Anyhow, I was still rejected 2 years ago

To keep our minds off the subject: how’s everyone passing the time before we find out?

I’m studying, unfortuntely, but also trying to include some fun things like reading books and watching movies!

Just got an email saying my app was incomplete and they’re missing documents. Sounds like they might have sent the email out on accident to A LOT of transfer applicants because they’re swamped with calls right now and the first person I spoke to said “You calling about the email?”

Just a word of warning if you’re trying to call in to find out what’s going on at this exact moment :)

i got that email as it turns out i am missing the transcript for la city college where i took a summer class !!! ahhhh omg i have to fax them an unofficial copy and then an official one through the college

Dear ---------------,

We are starting to wrap up our transfer application process for Fall 2010, and we are still missing important documents from your file. Please contact us as soon as possible at ------------ to discuss what information is needed for us to make a decision on your application.

Thank you for your cooperation, and for your interest in NYU.

Sincerely,

Mannnn. Sorry that a bunch of you got this email. That’s crazy! Hope you can all sort it out quicky :)

Really? Thank you, woman. My college GPA is only 3.6 and my SAT 1300/1920 though. I only applied to CAS. I’m not interested in anything else. (:

I got the email too! ):

For those who got the email: had you called previously to check on your application and been told everything was there? If so, that’s a little scary!!

I knew some supplements were missing. I just called, telling them I faxed everything in yesterday morning and she told me that I should have no worries then.

Anyone who called–did you get an idea of when you’re supposed to hear back?

Just called back. All my documents were only “recently processed.”

Well, aren’t you supposed to be transferred to those people who can check?
