NYU v. Stony Brook Honors College

I am trying to decide between doing Pre-Med at NYU's College of Arts and Science and Stony Brook's Honors College.

I would only have to pay for housing at Stony (10,000?) vs. 49,000 at NYU. Not only am I interested in knowing what school would give me a better education and set me up for getting into a better med school, but which school would provide for a better college experience.

Also, what exactly is Honors College? Does it hold any weight when applying to graduate schools? What are the Honors College dorms like?

Finally, what is social life and food like at both schools?

If you or your parents can pay for Nyu with minimal or no loans then consider it but otherwise that much debt for undergrad when aiming for med school is insane. All your other considerations are secondary

yea stony brook science is note-worthy. so basically going to nyu or stony brook is no difference in education wise since both universities have astounding professors in the sciences. if you’re thinking of really becoming a doctor, go with stony brook honors college. it’ll save you money for med school

Youre premed?

Stony HC. Cheaper and easier access to research professors.
