NYU vs Baruch

Hi,

I'm an international student. I have an admit from NYU for MS in Information System and from Baruch for MS in Business Computer Information System. I'm confused to choose between the two. Baruch is cheap and widely known in NY area. The course in NYU requires me to take half of the course in NY computer science department and the other half in Stern Business School. I'm looking for good placement immediately after graduation. Can any 1 guide me on this?

NYU would almost definitely offer better job placement, but Baruch is much less expensive and not a bad school at all…

I got a ton of mailers from “Baruch” and remember constantly wondering who the hell were they…

^ lol and this is the kid that thinks that OSU is underrated? Ignorance is not bliss.

Would someone please show me the correct pronunciation of Baruch so that I don’t embarrass myself next time I want to use it in a casual conversation?

I’d post a counter personal attack, but I’m too ig’nant to come up with a good one.

any further opinions abt tis?

How about posting on the grad school forum, where there may be more people in your position. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/graduate-school/

Baruch is a good school. How much will you have to pay for each?

You’d pronounce it as: Bar-ook.

@ vociferous: Baruch Fees : 29k per yr (tuition and living expenses) and NYU: 28k for Tuition only. But a half of the course is taken in Stern Business school. fees in baruch is cheap but the course in NYU has Stern Business school advantage. is NYU worth it?

You probable need 15K more per year if you go to NYU. The question is whether you can afford the extra 30K for your Master? When you evaluate your option, please don’t count on getting a job in the US. You are an international student, the opportunity is just more limited. I think NYU program is probable stronger in the Computer Science since you have to take half of the courses in the CS department. Is it worth the 30K? I think you have to think carefully about it.

Hope this will help. :)

any more updates?
