I got into NYU, majoring in Neural Science, and Boston University, major in neuroscience as well. I know NYU is supposedly a better ranking school, and both of them aren't well known for their science educations, but if I wanted to major in premed, which one would you recommend? Why?

And which school has larger classes? Sitting at the back every day does not appeal to me, lol.

I was admitted to both schools and ended up attending NYU. I chose NYU for the scholarship money, the school’s location, the Presidential Scholars program, and the study abroad opportunity for pre-meds.

You can’t major in pre-med at either school. Even if you could, it wouldn’t be a good idea. Get a real major - like neuroscience.

Pick the school that’s the right fit for you. Both are plenty good enough for pre-med. The real question is which school you yourself will do better at.

As for class size, you can look up the average class size yourself. No one’s counted the students in every single pre-med class at both schools. At NYU, even in the big pre-med lectures, there were always seats in front.

While I don’t think BU is for NYU rejects nor NYU is for Columbia rejects, one can reason it’s better to go to the school for Columbia rejects than the school for NYU rejects ;p.

For the OP, which school is cheaper? Medical school is expensive and you should try to take on as little debt as you can for your undergrad. Both school are great schools and a little bit of prestige is not worth the debt, especially it’d be the medical school that you go to matters, not your undergrad.

I’m not sure about this, so correct me if I’m wrong, but since the tuition for NYU and Bu are pretty much the same, what really matters when it comes to cost is the location, right? So living in New York would cost more than in Boston…
