to start, i currently hold a 3.6 UW GPA. I know its pretty low. It should be at a 3.7 but I took high school classes in middle school and didn’t take them seriously, and it’s what holding me down. My SATs are at 2100, and i have looooooads of extracurriculars. I’ve done stuff like being a reading mentor, I’ve helped abusive home victims, I’ve even travelled to vietnam for charity work under my schools supervision for a week. I’m from north africa and i live in saudi arabia, and have been living here for 3 years, as an international student. however, i do hold an american passport and have lived there most of my life.
i feel like the only thing holding me back as of now is my gpa. I know some guy said on here a while ago he got in with a 3.5, but he must of had some kickass essay, because what I’ve gathered is most get accepted with 3.8+
Im planning to speak to my guidance counselor about retaking those two classes i took in middle school (algebra 1 & geometry) so that it could bump my gpa at least a little bit.
also, I’m an ib student, and have been taking rigorous courses since middle school i don’t know my predicted scores yet but its no way it can be less than 38/42.
lastly, i have over 200+ volunteer hours, internship experiences, I’m in a good amount of clubs, planning to start my own, etc. my EC’s are fine, its my gpa I’m most worried about. :(. any help would be appreciated. thanks for your time
do you think they’ll care more about my weighted or unweighted? ugh I’m so nervous.
