@qutaibaaa Wow you did a lot! How do you even have time to do all those!! I’m already dreading from revision in Further Maths because they are too hard for me. And I’ve done until Silver DofE and still doing Gold. Haven’t done the acutal expedition though because they were extremely expensive.
@dreamncatcheryu Further Math isn’t as bad as it sounds! I’d say just don’t let the course material get on top of you! How’s your application going?
@qutaibaaa I guess all the information flowing in is quite confusing at the moment, but I’m coping quite well surprisingly! Thanks though I’m planning to send my application in a few days time. How about you? Hope everythings going well!
@dreamncatcheryu I’m still obsessing over all the details in my application @-) I’m trying to get it perfect but it should be ready soon! I spoke to the admissions team too and they said that we should hear back from them with a response sometime mid-november. Good Luck!
@qutaibaaa I’ve sent mine a few days ago Are we supposed to be receiving an email from NYU that they’ve received our applications in a few days time? Not sure about this whole process but good luck with your application! I really hope we can meet at NYUAD’s candidate weekend!
@dreamncatcheryu I just submitted! I hope to see you soon!
If there’s anybody here who has applied, or plans to apply ED1 to NYUAD then feel free to drop a comment below! You can share information about yourself, application, candidate weekend, or ask a question you might have? It’d be great to get to know you all in time for candidate weekend!
Hello!
I’m from Mexico but I’m living in the UK and I applied ED1 to NYUAD
@AlejandroGomez I’m from the UK too! Have you had a chance to attend any of the NYU London events? How do you feel about your application?
Hi everyone! I applied ED1 to NYUAD too! Apparently I have a few questions that I want to ask. In the application status page of your Albert account, are all of the boxes (high school transcripts, standardized testing…) checked? And does anyone know when will they start sending out CW invites? Best of luck to you all!
heey
I applied ED1 too. This tread kind of made me worried since my stats are not as good as those of some people here. I’m in a british school but only gor 4 As and 2 As at GCSE and 3 As and a B at AS-level with 3 As and an A predicted for A levels. Nothing extraordinary with extracurriculars either - involved in a program created by the New York Academy of Sciences, tutored science, volunteered in animal rescue and I’m the head of the art committee at my school. However, I’ve been to NYUAD several times and LOVED it so maybe against all odds?
@wakinguptoschool the boxes are not checked for me. I think we should hear about CW by mid November.
oh sorry @wakinguptoschool I just checked my account and the “highschool transcript” box only is checked
@wakinguptoschool I have neither box ticked, though their system is quite slow and they specifically specify that it may take up to four weeks to update the status of each component. I wouldn’t worry about! I also know that the admissions team plan to meet in New York around the 15/11 so CW invites should be sent out soon after!
@13thElvishLord I wouldn’t worry about academics too much! Your results and predictions are waaaaay above average, and the university is very holistic in their application process!
@qutaibaaa lol really? At my school, my grades are pretty average, however, only one other person applied. Where do my extracurriculars stand? OMG I’m so worried lol really want to get in.
@13thElvishLord I think your ECs are realllly good too and you’ve got a pretty strong application! It has a lot to do with your essays too and how they reflect on you as a person, though visiting the campus and admissions team may work in your favour aswell! I visited last chirstmas and through summer and it was amazing!
@qutaibaaa oh yes the campus is one of the prettiest I’ve seen. What were you visiting for, may I ask?
hahaha thanks for making me a liiittle less worried!!
@13thElvishLord I live in the UK but frequently visit the UAE a few times a year whilst on holiday!
@qutaibaaa ooh cool! I live in the UAE
@qutaibaaa I didn’t go to any of the London Events, but a representative from NYU came to my school. I think I have very good stats, but NYUAD is really selective, so I have no idea about my chances of getting in.
