The acceptance envelope (hooray!) was brown with olive accents on the papers inside. Very nice.

But when grandparents were sending congrats with questions about school colors, I looked it up and they are crimson and gold!

The other folders were all in school colors--I'm curious why not Oberlin? Frankly, I was excited about brown and green as school colors......

Did you ever notice when you watch college sports that the uniforms tend to be in the school’s colors?

But not always: [Baylor to shed neon uniforms, go all black vs. Kentucky | Basketball: Men | Kentucky.com](http://www.kentucky.com/2012/03/24/2124727/baylor-to-shed-neon-uniforms-go.html)

So maybe you answered your own question…a split second before you asked it:

There was a note on the Oberlin acceptance papers that the envelope and all of its contents were printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper, which I personally found very impressive.

I thought their folder was very tasteful and simple - not garish like several others that I’ve received. Points for Oberlin in my book!

Oh, I agree–I thought it was very nice looking! Very Oberlin-ish. Maybe I’ll just pretend the colors are green and brown…

Oberlin’s colors are mikado yellow and cardinal red. From a design perspective, we can’t make everything those two colors all the time for everything (gotta mix it up sometimes!), so we do also use a secondary palette of colors that are complimentary to our official colors. That deep brown and olive green are two of the colors we use regularly; even though they’re not our school colors, we love them dearly and we’re glad you do, too.
