<p>I don't know what namaste's "make sure you're 'different'" means. There's a big difference between being "different" and being distinctive. Oberlin has no interest in applicants who try to play up their eccentricity: they want to see candidates who will make strong contributions to the life of the campus community, intellectual and otherwise.</p>

<p>That being said, yes, I think you have a realistic chance.</p>
