Oberlin/Wellesley/NYU Admissions (with a rather dismal AP chem grade)

Hi there!
I’m a senior (just submitted the last of my applications), and I’m a bit worried, to say the least. I have a 4.5 GPA this year (improved from a 3.6 over 9-11th), but I had a C in AP Chem first quarter, and a probable D for the second quarter…I’m going to be able to bring it up to at least a C (our class gets easier during the second semester), but I know senior grades are important and I can only imagine how much it’ll affect me. I have As and A+s in all other subjects this year, and I had 2 Cs and a D in my years prior. The “edge” to my application would be my extracurriculars that correlate to my major and won Intel Semifinalist for my research in that field. The only upside is that chemistry is not needed for my major (my major is humanities based). My top 3 schools are Wellesley, Oberlin and NYU, but I was wondering what the CC community suggests I do to at least attempt to salvage my application at this point.
