Occupations with a Law Degree

How relevant is sports and entertainment law as a law degree? I am really interested in being a sports agent and I know there are programs at Stanford, UCLA, USC, among some other schools. I see this as a logical pathway toward being an agent. Am I right? Or have I somehow been misled?

I don’t know a thing about being an agent, but there’s just no way it’s worth spending 3 years and $200,000 to advance your career as an agent.

Do you need a license to be an agent? Is it regulated in any way? If not, you are probably better off reading a book or two on how to be an agent and then pounding the pavement looking for clients.

as far as i know, most “agents” only need a license, not a law school degree. i may be wrong, but you might want to research about it. i know patent agents just need a license without having to attend law school but patent attorneys must graduate from lawschool and have license.

Yes. A law degree is helpful to have but is not necessary to have to be a sports agent. A law degree is not what makes you successful as a sport agent. There are many other factors that influence success as a sports agent.
