If tomorrows math questions are as easy as those then I should do fine!
I took some practice test on math and scored 660-740 most of the mistakes were easy and medium because I go too fast.

first SAT :-S eek

Easy and medium questions

Welp, so it dawns… Still missing 4-5 on CR sections because of narrowing down to two…
All of the “identify don’t justify” and the “devil’s advocate” haven’t really be helping… any tips?

What do you mean?

Well…Im trying to get an 800 on writing and 700+ on reading. It’ll all be luck :/.

@Necrosympath same… i keep missing 10 overall on CR its so hard for me. The best thing i can say is that the answer must be supported by the passage or else its wrong. Look for the key words that would hint at the answer. Don’t infer an answer is right because it sounds the smartest. Other than that i think lots of sleep and a good breakfast will be most important for CR and your brain endurance throughout the passages.

Does anyone have timesaving tips for the math section?

If it’s not clearly stated in the passage, even if the question says “implied,” then it’s probably wrong. CollegeBoard and ETS would have to deal with a lot of lawsuits if there wasn’t one correct answer. I still struggle with it as well, but sometimes you just have to use POE and be extremely harsh.

well to save time, for the first 10, do it as quickly as possible. After that, read the problems word by word, underlining the tricks they throw at you. and use your calculator and mist importantly get used to it so you don’t even need to think to find buttons and its second nature. All simple calculations if your good at using the calculator, sound take 3 seconds - faster than hand or head, for me at least. Plus skip the ones that you know will take counting, and go there last. circle it

Section 4, Question 16:

See my explanation.

Section 4, Question 19:

Make up a value for K, and work around that. To calculate midpoint, add the two values and divide by 2.

Section 9, Question 15:

Hard problem, but we know only choices C or E, would work because you need x to be negative (-x^3 = -x^3) (NOT -x^2 /=/ x^2).

I’m hoping that the essay’s theme is going to be something along the lines of success, adversity, collaboration , dedication, or progress.

Just had to pop in lol. I hope you all have wonderful dreams about rocking the SAT. Also, I hope you all eat the best breakfast you’ve had in your life! We’re going to do awesome!! (Optimism is beautiful isn’t it? )

Pro-tips on the math section:

Stupid mistakes are everything. Missing an easy question has the same impact on your score as missing a hard question.

If you skip a problem, make sure you remember to come back to it (aka the reason I got a 790 the math, LOL).

@GodsGem322 Try to find the easy solution to the problem. Every SAT question can be solved in under 1 min. If you get stuck on the question move on, and come back to it later.

@silverdrop I got a 790 too…first question on the test apparently I wasn’t paying much attention

Yeah, I’ve been trying to look for info that substantiates my choices, but some practice test answers are just WAYYYY out there… like where did they even get this?

First comment on CC! This is my first SAT and I’m taking it as a sophomore My goal’s to get over 2150. I’ve been getting 2070-2150 on actual past tests. I just need to remember to not panic if I encounter a problem that I don’t know. Good luck everyone :D

Does anyone have any good tips regarding the vocabulary sentence questions in the first part of the reading section?

I studied sat words but there are still a lot that I don’t know clearly… Any tips?
